Moosa Nazeeh, the Executive Chef at JA Manafaru, credits his mother as his biggest inspiration for becoming a chef, recalling the delicious homemade meals and snacks she made during his childhood. 

“As a Maldivian, I believe it’s important to showcase your culture, the tastes, and flavours you grew up with. Those are the best memories, and I want my customers to experience those childhood flavours,” he says.

Nazeeh also addresses the challenges of facing societal stigmas as a male chef while emphasizing his passion for offering authentic Maldivian culinary experiences to his guests.
