First Lady Inaugurates Patient Safety Committee at Addu Equatorial Hospital

First Lady Sajidha Mohamed has officially launched the Patient Safety Committee and the Patient Safety Strategic Plan for Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH). 

The inauguration occurred during the National Patient Safety Conference 2024, with the closing ceremony held at the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement in Addu City.

The conference featured a special panel discussion centred on patient safety, addressing the current efforts being made to enhance safety standards, the challenges faced in this area, and potential solutions to improve patient care.

During the ceremony, First Lady Sajidha presented pins to the twelve members of the newly established Patient Safety Committee. The committee is tasked with ensuring patient safety, investigating complaints regarding services, and making critical decisions to enhance healthcare quality.

Additionally, the event marked the launch of the Advanced Wound Care Management treatment system, inaugurated by AEH’s Chief Executive Officer, Ibrahim Yasir Ahmed.

The National Patient Safety Conference 2024 was organised by AEH in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO). Dr. Padmal de Silva, the WHO Representative, also participated in the conference.
