Renovation of Fish Pond at Islamic Center Minaret Underway

The State Electric Company (STELCO) has started renovating the fish pond beneath the minaret of the Islamic Center, a project initiated as part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. 

The pond has been in a state of disrepair for an extended period.

Managing Director Hussain Fahmi expressed the company’s commitment to the project following a meeting with Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed. He stated that STELCO would collaborate with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs to restore the water tank under the minaret.

Fahmi highlighted the company’s ongoing support for similar initiatives in the future. The Ministry is also planning enhancements to the minaret and the surrounding grounds of the Islamic Center in anticipation of its 40th-anniversary celebrations. The government has confirmed plans to mark this significant milestone.
