Police Opens Post in B. Dhonfanu

The Maldives Police Service has officially opened a new police post in Baa Dhonfanu. The opening ceremony, held on the island today, was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau and B. Dhonfanu Council President Ahmed Irshad.

In his speech, Commissioner Ali Shujau emphasised the importance of this development, calling it a “historic and joyful day” for the people of Dhonfanu. He highlighted that the establishment of the police post would enhance the safety of both residents and visitors, noting that the integration of modern technology will aid in tackling cybercrime, and crackdown on drug trafficking.

He also emphasised on residents and the police working together to prevent crime.

The ceremony was attended by key police officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikri, Service Development Directorate Assistant Commissioner of Police Moosa Ali, and several executive officers. Atoll Council President Ahmed Afrah, along with other officials and representatives from local institutions, also participated in the event.
