Deputy Speaker Elected as Asia Regional Representative for Commonwealth Parliamentary Association

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ahmed Nazim, has been elected as the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Regional Representative for Asia at the 67th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) in Sydney, Australia.

As a regional representative on the CPA’s Executive Committee, Nazim will play a vital role in supporting the Association’s activities and advocating for the interests of the Asia region. His responsibilities will include contributing to decision-making processes and participating in Executive Committee meetings over a three-year term.

The CPA works to strengthen parliamentary democracy by promoting knowledge of the constitutional, legislative, economic, social, and cultural aspects of governance, with a focus on the countries of the Commonwealth.
