MMA Investigates Leak of Staff Member’s Personal Information on Social Media

The Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has confirmed that it is investigating the leak of personal information about one of its staff members on social media.

This week, personal and work-related details of a senior MMA official were circulated online.

In a statement issued last Thursday, the MMA expressed its commitment to safeguarding the personal information of its employees. The authority also confirmed that its Internal Audit team is examining how the breach occurred.

The MMA has requested technical assistance from the Maldives Police Service to support the investigation.
