TMA Named World’s Leading Seaplane Operator 2024

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has been recognised as the World’s Leading Seaplane Operator 2024 at the 31st Annual World Travel Awards. The ceremony, held on 24 November in Portugal, also saw TMA secure the title of Indian Ocean’s Leading Seaplane Operator for the 10th consecutive year.
Established in 1993, TMA operates the world’s largest seaplane fleet, currently consisting of 65 DHC-6 Twin Otters, including 13 resort-branded aircraft and two VIP-configured planes. The airline provides connectivity to over 80 resorts across 16 Maldivian atolls, with more than 400 daily flights. Its operations contribute significantly to the Maldives’ reputation as a premier travel destination, supporting the tourism industry’s growth and international recognition.
Reflecting on the achievement, TMA’s Chief Executive Officer, A.U.M. Fawzy, commented: “We are deeply honoured to have received these prestigious awards, marking a decade of excellence for TMA. The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, acknowledge excellence across the global travel and tourism industry.
