Parliament to Review Five Nominees for MIRA Board Vacancy

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has submitted five nominees for the vacant board membership post at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) to the Parliament for approval.
The nominees are:
- Dhaha Shuhaib, H. Caribbean, Malé
- Ahmed Faiz Mohamed, Asrafee Hiyaa, L. Maavah
- Abdulla Imran, Maalam, R. Hulhudhuffaaru
- Uz. Mahoom Saleem, Shabnamge, K. Kaashidhoo
- Aminath Afiya, Dhafthar No. R.S13462
In his letter to the Parliament, President Muizzu requested the review and approval of one of the nominees for the position. During Monday’s Parliamentary sitting, Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla forwarded the names to the Committee on Economic Affairs for further review.
Applications for the position were opened on 17 November as the tenure of one of MIRA’s board members is nearing its expiration. The nominated candidates will undergo a parliamentary review process before the appointment of one of them to the board.
The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority plays a vital role in tax administration and revenue collection, making this selection a significant step in ensuring the authority’s continued efficiency.
