Bangladesh High Commission Holds Futsal Tournament to Celebrate International Migrants Day

The High Commission of Bangladesh celebrated International Migrants Day by organising a futsal tournament for expatriates yesterday. Held at the Lagoons Club futsal ground in Malé, the event saw 16 teams competing in a daylong competition.  

H.E. Md Sohel Parvez, Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh, inaugurated the tournament as chief guest. Special guests, including H.E. D. Amanullah, Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka, Deputy Head of Mission USA Mz. Chunnong Saeger and Mr. Andrew Hodges from the Australian Mission attended the prize-giving ceremony in the evening.  

The tournament welcomed participants from different expatriate communities, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, and Nepal. Thilafushi F.C. claimed the championship trophy, with Friends Club finishing as runner-up.
