Bangladesh High Commission Celebrates Victory Day

The Bangladesh High Commission hosted a reception yesterday to commemorate Victory Day, celebrating the nation’s independence from Pakistan in 1971.

The event brought together expatriates from various backgrounds, including doctors, engineers, and bankers, among others, to celebrate the historic day. Held at the Maldives National University Auditorium, the Acting High Commissioner, H.E. Md Sohel Parvez, graced the reception as the chief guest.

Attendees paid their homage to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence, and a special tribute was paid to the martyrs who played a role in the revolution to restore democracy.

The celebration was concluded with a cultural performance by the expatriate team featuring Bangla songs.
