Sustainability Campaign ‘Reethi Raajje’ Concludes in Laamu Atoll

The Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), in partnership with Parley Maldives, hosted the ‘Reethi Raajje’ campaign in Laamu Atoll to promote environmental sustainability and cultural preservation.

The events, supported by the L. Atoll Council, Gan Council, Hamad School, and Climate Guardians from UNICEF Maldives, featured impactful activities, including a cleanup event on December 14th, where they removed over 170 kg of waste from the atoll’s longest beach,

The campaign held its main event on December 15th at Hamad School, with active participation from students in Gan and Fonadhoo area. The team also visited key cultural and historical sites, such as Bodu Fengandu in Gan and mosques in Fonadhoo, Isdhoo, Kalaidhoo, and Maabaidhoo, to celebrate Maldivian heritage.

MATI stated that the campaign will continue across the Maldives, aiming to inspire communities to work together towards a sustainable and vibrant future.
