Maldivian Opens Bookings for China Flights with First Wide-Body Aircraft

Maldivian has begun accepting bookings for flights to China with its first wide-body aircraft, the Airbus A330.
The airline’s inaugural destination in China is Chengdu, with return tickets priced at USD 688 (MVR 10,610). The first flight to Chengdu is scheduled for 22 January.

Maldivian will expand its services to Beijing from 24 January, offering return tickets for USD 788 (MVR 12,151). Flights to Shanghai will commence on 27 January, with return fares set at USD 777 (MVR 11,981). All passengers on these routes will benefit from a 40 kg baggage allowance.
The Airbus A330 was delivered to the Maldives last Monday. The aircraft accommodates 260 passengers across business, premium economy, and economy class cabins and has a cargo capacity of 10 tonnes.
With the addition of the A330, Maldivian’s fleet has grown to 25 aircraft. The airline currently operates flights to 29 destinations. In 2024, Maldivian conducted 50,000 flights, transporting one million passengers.
