In the Greater Malé Area, the dates are being distributed at the Islamic Centre by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. For residents in the atolls, distribution is managed through respective island and city councils.
Households will receive the dates based on their attendance at the distribution points. Each household is entitled to one packet of dates, allocated using the household’s electricity meter number and the ID card of the collector.
This year, the Saudi government donated 50 tonnes of dates to the Maldives, continuing a tradition of support for the holy month.
