Zakat Collection in Maldives Sees 81% Increase in First 10 Days of Ramadan

Maldives Zakat House has reported an 81 per cent increase in Zakat collections during the first 10 days of Ramadan this year compared to the same period in 2024.

According to statistics shared by the authority, the total Zakat collected during this period in 2025 amounted to MVR 2.91 million. This marks an increase of MVR 1.31 million from the MVR 1.60 million collected during the same period last year.
In 2023, the total Zakat collected in the first 10 days of Ramadan stood at MVR 1.39 million, while in 2022, it was recorded at MVR 1.09 million. The lowest collection during this period was reported in 2021, with a total of MVR 977,301.
Zakat House has also announced that online Zakat payments will be accepted until 06:00hrs on Thursday next week. The available online payment options include the Dhiraagu App and Pay website, Ooredoo Maldives’ m-Faisaa, Maldives Islamic Bank’s Faisaa Mobile X app, Bank of Maldives’ mobile app, FahiPay, and the Ministry of Finance’s BandeyriPay platform.
