4 Binge-Worthy Netflix Shows to Watch Right Now

Whether you’re looking for some dramatised version of the royal family or a horror series to watch on the weekend, here are some essential TV series that fans can watch.
Russian Doll (2019-present)
On the night of Nadia’s 36th birthday, she dies. She awakens at her party as if no time has passed and believes that the universe is playing some kind of trick on her. Nadia experiences a never-ending loop and she becomes self-aware of an anomaly. In the first season, Nadia meets Alan Zaveri, who also deals with the “purgatorial punishment.” Through investigative work, they go back in time to understand their past traumas. In the second season, after four years of escaping the events, she is able to slip between the past and the present, a different and not a permanent condition like the last time.
Both of the seasons of Russian Doll are entertaining and addictive that it has a leaving room for future possibilities of more stories down the line.
Alice in Borderland (2020-present)
Netflix’s Alice in Borderland is set in a dystopian, alternative reality in Tokyo, where the players have to fight for their lives to stay alive. The catch is that these players have to survive a brutal life-and-game game to get to the next level. Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and his buddies are trapped inside the game and they must collect and finish the stages to get to find out who is behind the games.
The second season of Alice in Borderland premiers on December 22nd on Netflix.
The Haunting of Hill House (2018)
Inspired by Shirley Jackson’s ghost story, The Haunting of Hill House focuses on the haunted lives of the Crain family. The series takes the audience from the past and the present between the summer the Crain’s spent in the titular haunted mansion. Mike Flanagan’s miniseries focuses on their years of grief and family trauma they endured after the death of their mother.
The Haunting of Hill House swings between emotional revelations and moments of horrors. Flanagan’s other projects with Netflix includes The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020), Midnight Mass (2021) and the new series, The Midnight Club (2022).
The Crown (2016-present)
One of the most popular shows on Netflix right now is the historically fictitious of Queen Elizabeth’s reign. The Crown retells the story of the young Elizabeth before she takes the role of the Queen. Her father George VI becomes the new King after his brother’s abdication. And, after the death of her father, she tries to navigate her life as the Queen during the 50s and 60s. The Queen’s role is portrayed by Claire Foy in the first and second seasons. During the third and fourth seasons, Olivia Coleman portrays the Queen as she tries to deal with the troubles of her children.
In the final two seasons of The Crown, Imelda Staunton will take the role of the Queen. The fifth season will premiere on 9 November on Netflix.
