VIHS Emerges Victorious in World Scholars Cup Global Round

Villa International High School has achieved an outstanding victory as it emerged as the winner of the Global Round Senior Division in The World Scholars Cup. The highly anticipated event took place at the prestigious Qatar National Convention Center in Doha, Qatar, from 22nd to 27th June.

Participation in this international competition was fervent, with over 1,800 students from 30 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Gulf joining in the Scholars Cup. Among them, a contingent of 12 talented students represented Villa International High School in the Global Round.

During the event, Villa International High School excelled in various learning activities that encompassed cutting-edge ideas, ultimately securing the Senior Division Overall Champion Team title.

Impressively, not only did the students showcase their intellectual prowess, but they also amassed an impressive collection of accolades. In addition to winning 26 gold medals and 48 silver medals in various academic competitions, the students of Villa International High School accomplished the following:

• Naaif Mohamed achieved 13th place in the Individual Overall standings.
• The Scholars Bowl Team, comprising Aishath Raaya Nimadh, Ayesha Kaya Rifae, Fathimath Ra’um Mukhthar, secured the 2nd place.
• Aishath Raaya Nimadh, Aishath Kaya Rifae, Fathimath Ra’um Mukhthar claimed 5th place in the Challenge Team Event.

Notably, this remarkable achievement has qualified Villa International High School to send 12 students to the Tournaments of Champions held at Yale University in the United States.

The journey towards success in the Global Round began with the students’ triumph in the regional round, which granted them the opportunity to participate on the global stage. Accompanying the students on this remarkable journey were Saeed Ahmed, Principal of Villa International High School, and Aminath Shaffa, the English Subject Team Leader.
