Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has started preparation to launch the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service in Addu City.
This announcement was made by MTCC CEO Adam Azim, stating that infrastructure works are well in progress to ready the city for the new transport initiative.
In alignment with the company’s nationwide expansion plans, the RTL ferry service is set to begin its operations connecting Addu, Fuvahmulah, and Huvadhoo in the south this August.
MTCC has scheduled an awareness programme to provide in-depth knowledge about the upcoming RTL ferry service in Addu. This informative session is set to be held in two separate locations in Addu City later today.
The first part of the awareness programme will take place at Feydhoo School at 4:30 pm. Later in the evening, the second part of the programme will commence at Gan International School at 9 pm.
Prior to the initiation of the RTL ferry service, routes between Hithadhoo, Feydhoo, and Hulhumeedhoo had not been established. However, under the supervision of MTCC, a ferry service is currently being operated to fill this gap.
Previously, these transport operations were handled by the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) under the Southern Transport Link initiative.
