The Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure has decided to extend the deadline for submitting complaints concerning the provisional list of flat recipients within the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme.
To accommodate this, the ministry has granted an additional seven days for the submission of complaints.
Minister of State for National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure, Akram Kamaluddeen, stated that an increased number of individuals expressed their desire to submit complaints after the initial deadline had passed.
A total of 20,697 individuals filed applications for the Gedhoruveriya scheme. Among these applicants, 14,489 requested a three-room apartment, while 6,208 sought a two-room apartment. The ministry has confirmed that all eligible applicants will be allocated flats as per the scheme’s provisions.
Currently, the ministry is engaged in the verification of the information provided by eligible applicants in their submitted forms. This verification process is crucial before the final list can be published.
The ministry has clarified that it will take necessary action in accordance with the agreement established during form submission on the Gedhoriverin Portal. This action will be taken in cases where the information provided on the forms cannot be substantiated.
