Muizzu Pledges Youth Empowerment and Drug Prevention

During his campaign tour spanning the HA, HDh, and Sh. provinces, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, speaking at a rally in Sh. Funadhoo, highlighted the role of empowering youth as a catalyst for national development, emphasising his dedication to redirecting them away from the grip of drugs towards a brighter future.

Addressing the crowd, Muizzu asserted that nurturing a morally upright society hinges upon the cultivation and education of a virtuous younger generation.
He identified the challenge of combating drug addiction among the youth as a top priority in his agenda for national progress.
Muizzu’s proposed strategy centers on providing supportive avenues for young individuals to become self-sufficient and contribute positively to the nation.
He articulated his vision, saying, “Our goal is to guide disadvantaged youth off the streets towards a more promising future. Instead of punitive measures, we intend to establish specialised centers aimed at equipping them with employable skills.”
During the rally held at Sh. Funadhoo, Mohamed Shiyam, the President of the Sh. Atoll council, formally joined the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) as a member. The event also saw the participation of Mohamed Nazim, the President of the Maldives National Party (MNP).
