MET Office Releases White Alert for Areas from Haa Alif Atoll to Alif Dhaal Atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has released a White Alert for the area from Haa Alifu Atoll to Alif Dhaal Atoll, effective from 07:30 to 12:30 hrs today. 

This alert has been issued due to the anticipated heavy rainfall and thunderstorms expected during this timeframe. 

The MMS recommends that individuals residing in or visiting the affected regions remain alert and take appropriate safety measures.

MMS categorises weather alerts as follows:

  • White alert: Alert Level 1
  • Yellow advisory: Alert Level 2
  • Orange warning: Alert Level 3
  • Red warning: Alert Level 4
