Candidates Announced for MDP Parliamentary Group Leader Election

The upcoming election for the leader of the Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) Parliamentary Group has revealed three contenders vying for the position. 

The election, prompted by the elevation of former MP Mohamed Aslam to the role of Speaker of the Parliament, is scheduled to take place on Thursday between 14:00 and 16:00 at the MDP office.

The candidates seeking the crucial post of MDP Parliamentary Group Leader are as follows:

1. Mohamed Rasheed Hussain – Alifushi Constituency

2. Abdul Ghani Abdul Hakeem – Kurendhoo Constituency

3. Abdullah Jabir – Kaashidhoo Constituency

The current vacancy arose due to the transition of Mohamed Aslam to the role of Parliament Speaker.
