ECM Opens Withdrawal Requests for Parliamentary Candidates

The Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has announced that it is presently accepting requests for candidacy withdrawal for the upcoming parliamentary elections until 14:00 hrs on Friday, February 16th.

Applicants who wish to withdraw their candidacy are required to fill out a dedicated form provided by the Commission.

Following the closure of the candidacy application window at 14:00 hrs yesterday, the commission has received forms from 381 candidates vying for 93 constituencies. 

However, it is important to note that this number may fluctuate as the commission reviews the applications and may reject incomplete or otherwise ineligible forms.
