Responding to a question from Aminath Najma of Funadhoo, Shaviyani Atoll, Muizzu clarified that while the state was responsible for covering his accommodation expenses, he personally opted to cover the entire cost during his stay at his own residence. Contrary to reports suggesting a state expenditure of USD 1,623,650, the President disputed the accuracy of such figures.

Furthermore, Muizzu dismissed allegations of a USD 1,948,380 expenditure on dinners for himself and the First Lady over a span of 100 days, labeling it unreasonable. He pointed out the annual meal expenses at Muliaage, totalling USD 45,462, and emphasized that false information was being spread due to a lack of substantive criticisms against the government.

Expressing concern over the proliferation of misinformation, Muizzu urged the public to remain vigilant. He called on authorities to provide accurate clarification on such reports, stressing the importance of transparency and truthfulness in public discourse.
