“The best part about surfing competitions is getting to hang out with my friends, and getting to surf in different places,” says 15-year-old Kayan Abdulla Areef, the reigning junior champion of the Dhivehi Surf League.

Clinching the U18 title at the recent ‘Kalhegalekoda’ event held in February, Kayan is gearing up for the ‘Gaamaadhookolhu’ tournament slated for June 12th to 15th.
