Gov’t Launches Installation of Additional Lifts in Hiya Towers

The government has commenced the physical installation of two additional lifts in Hiya Towers today.

Minister of Housing Dr. Ali Haidar, speaking at the ceremony, revealed that one of the newly installed lifts would be designed to accommodate patients on stretchers.

Last February, HDC awarded a contract to China’s Shenyang Yuanda Intellectual Industry Group for the installation of lifts in Hiyaa housing towers. The contract entails installing a total of 32 lifts across 16 Hiya towers.

The current administration had pledged to install additional lifts in each tower to alleviate the challenges faced by residents due to the inadequacy of the existing three lifts.
