Parliament Session Cancelled Due To Insufficient Attendance

The parliamentary session was cancelled today after failing to reach a quorum required to start a session.
This is the second parliamentary session of the 19th assembly following the parliamentary elections on Sunday. During yesterday’s parliament session, the majority and minority leaders requested the speaker to not call for a vote on any matters during yesterday’s session due to low attendance.
The items on agenda for today’s included the summoning of Construction Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib for questioning.
The current parliament period will run till May 15. The newly elected MPs will take the oath of the office on May 28.
