MDP Elects New Parliamentary Group Leader

The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has elected Ibrahim Nazil, the MP Elect for South Hithadhoo constituency, as the new Parliamentary Group (PG) Leader. 

This marks the beginning of Nazil’s second term in the 20th People’s Majlis. Notably, Nazil is the sole MDP representative from the Addu City constituencies to secure re-election in the recent parliamentary election.

In addition to Nazil’s appointment, the MDP has elected Vaikaradhoo constituency MP Elect Hussain Ziyad and Maradhoo constituency MP Elect Ahmed Didi as Deputy PG Leaders.

The post of Secretary General has been awarded to North Galolhu constituency MP Elect Mohamed Ibrahim, with Maavashu constituency MP Elect Ahmed Shakir serving as his Deputy. Thoddoo constituency MP Elect Hussain Sameer has been appointed as Chief Whip. 

Kanditheemu constituency MP Ameen Faisal and Keyodhoo constituency MP Mohamed Niushad will also serve as Whips.
