The film, which had its title reveal ceremony at the Olympus Cinema yesterday, revolves around the lives of Rimsha (Azza) and Haidher (Yuppe). Azza and Yousuf Shafiu (Yuppe) play a couple residing in Haa Alif Atoll Molhadhoo. Their joy at expecting a child is abruptly shattered by the dark cloud of domestic violence, a pressing issue in the Maldives.

Director Hussain Munawwar promises a poignant portrayal of resilience amidst adversity, drawing inspiration from a true story. "I want to raise awareness on this topic, mainly because I believe this is an ongoing problem in our society," he said.

According to Munnawar, his first film, Sazaa (2011), depicted a similar story. "I found that it's a narrative that resonates deeply with many people," he remarked, adding that the problem of domestic violence has not improved since then.

Azza's transformative portrayal of Rimsha is of particular note, a departure from her previous roles. The film marks the first collaboration between Azza and Yuppe in leading roles, promising a dynamic on-screen chemistry.

Asha is set to play a pivotal role in the film, adding depth to its ensemble cast, which includes Dhara Rasheed, Mohammed Manik, and Natasha, each of whom contributes significantly to the film's narrative.

Presented by Kid Production and Saturn Studios, "Kamana" is produced by Shaniz Ali and Hussain Munawwar. The screenplay, penned by Mahdi Ahmed based on a story by Rishfa Ali, is directed by Munawwar, whose previous films include  "Saza" and "Dhilakani."
