The Art Competition was inaugurated by Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information, and Arts, Ibrahim Waheed, along with MD Abdul Matheen, during a special ceremony held at Sultan Park last night.

The “Fenun Dhirun” children’s evening was a lively affair, featuring the exceptional talents of local live artists. Children enjoyed a variety of activities, including T-shirt painting, coloring, live music performances, and a captivating magic show.

The competition will recognise three winners, with prizes of MVR 50,000 for the first place, MVR 35,000 for the second, and MVR 15,000 for the third.

In addition to the art expo, MWSC will introduce a ‘People’s Choice’ Awards, allowing the public to vote for their favourite artworks. Moreover, the competition distinguishes itself by offering visitors the opportunity to purchase the artworks they admire.

Artists will receive 15% of the proceeds from the sale of their artworks, while the remaining 85% will be allocated towards tree planting initiatives across the Maldives.
