MMC Opens Nominations for Media Awards 2023

Maldives Media Council (MMC) has opened up for nominations for the annual media awards, with the deadline approaching on June 30th.

In a press statement released yesterday, MMC said the awards’ purpose is to encourage journalists, highlight their work, and promote high-quality journalism that maintains ethical standards.

The awards are given across a total 18 categories:

Investigative Journalism
Social Reporting
Political Reporting
Judicial and Legal Reporting
Business and Economy Reporting
Sports Reporting
Photo Journalism
Video Documentary Journalism
Feature Report
History and Culture
Entertainment and Arts
Environment and Sustainable Development
Audio Journalism
Most Promising Reporter
Best Reporter of the Year
Best Coverage of the Year
Best Production from the Atolls

MMC said interested parties can nominate names for the awards using a google form.
