Police Launch Investigation into Harassment Incident in Hulhumale’

An investigation has been initiated by the police following reports of harassment targeting the family of an officer at their residence in Hulhumale’. 

The incident allegedly involved a gang, as claimed on social media, where the wife of a forensic officer was reportedly harassed in the presence of their child.

Claims circulating on social media, particularly on platform X, suggested that the harassment was carried out by individuals associated with a gang currently facing trial at the Criminal Court on drug charges.

In response to these allegations, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan, the chief police spokesperson, stated that the Hulhumale’ police are actively investigating the incident. He clarified, “So far, there is no evidence to substantiate claims of criminal activity involving any gang at the Police Apartment Residence in Hulhumale’.”

The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to establish the facts surrounding the reported incident.
