Maldives State Shipping (MSS) has announced the commencement of operations to Singapore and Malaysia, beginning on July 13.
The new routes will include stops at Port Klang in Malaysia, Singapore, and Colombo in Sri Lanka, utilising their own vessel, MSS Graphene.
Ahmed Shareef, Managing Director of MSS, revealed to PSM News that the MSS Graphene can carry up to 500 containers. Shareef highlighted the high demand for these new routes and explained that goods would first be transported to ports in Colombo before being shipped to the Maldives on another vessel. He also mentioned plans to expand MSS operations to additional destinations in the future.
The MSS fleet currently consists of five vessels and operates routes from Colombo and Dubai to Malé City. The company employs agents from over 30 countries and manages a fleet of over 2,000 containers. MSS emphasised its capability to transport goods to the Maldives from around the world.
