MV+ News Desk | July 10, 2024

The government has initiated the construction of new kiosks in Hulhumale’ Phase II, following the clearance of unpermitted structures.

Previously, the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) had issued a directive for the removal of various huts, including snack carts, coffee stalls, and food outlets, by June 15. These structures were ultimately cleared by June 18, as they lacked the necessary HDC permits.

The clearance aimed to facilitate development and create space for small businesses. In response, HDC is now constructing regulated kiosks in the area to meet business needs under controlled conditions.

HDC emphasised its commitment to utilising available resources in Hulhumale’ to enhance public services and support local business activities. This initiative underscores HDC’s proactive approach to fostering sustainable development in the region.
