MACL Launches Basic Fire Fighting Course

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has initiated a basic fire fighting course aimed at enhancing preparedness for potential fire incidents at Velana International Airport (VIA).

The company announced that the 29th batch of the firefighter training course, approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), will also encompass aviation safety and emergency response. 

This batch will train 12 firefighters, equipping them to handle fire incidents both at Velana International Airport and on aircraft.

In addition to ongoing firefighter training, MACL has recently inaugurated a fire station at the airport, outfitted with the latest technology. The company describes this as a significant step in bolstering their capacity for rapid emergency response.
