The State Electric Company (STELCO) has awarded the Medal of Honour to 16 employees in recognition of their long-term service to the company.
The awards were presented during a special ceremony held today at STELCO’s head office in Malé.
In his address at the ceremony, STELCO’s Managing Director, Hussain Fahmy, emphasised the importance of the employees’ dedication, equating their service to the company with service to the state. Fahmy highlighted the critical role of electricity services in maintaining the country’s economic independence. He asserted that any decline in STELCO’s performance could negatively impact the nation’s economic self-sufficiency.
Fahmy also urged all employees to strive for excellence and continuous improvement in their work to enhance STELCO’s services.
“We serve, have served, and continue to serve the Dhivehi state. We must remain steadfast and unwavering in this service,” he stated.
