For the following five days, the Met Office has predicted widespread rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 45 miles per hour. They have warned that seas will be rough during showers.

The Met Office has advised the public to exercise caution during this period, particularly seafarers, who are urged to check weather updates before setting out on any voyages.

The southwest monsoon began in May. Since then, the Maldives has experienced intermittent periods of adverse weather, including heavy rain, strong winds, and rough seas. Last week, rough seas resulted in multiple accidents at sea, with one foreigner reported injured.

The Maldives Police Service has reiterated the need for precautions to avoid damage, noting that poor weather conditions are expected to persist for the next five days.
