Villa College Hosts Maldives’ First Engineering Exhibition
Villa College hosted the Maldives’ first-ever engineering exhibition today, showcasing 40 innovative projects across various fields of engineering.
These projects represented the final year work of students enrolled in Mechatronics, Mechanical, and Electrical and Electronics engineering degree programmes at the college.
The exhibition was introduced by Udhuma Abdul Latheef, the Head of School at the Faculty of Engineering. In opening remarks, Udhuma provided an overview of the event, emphasising the college’s commitment to fostering innovation among its students.
“This exhibition is more than just an event; it is a testament to the courage, skill, creativity, and hard work demonstrated by our students in electrical and electronics, mechanical, and mechatronics engineering,” Udhuma said.
The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Muaz Mohamed Rasheed, Managing Director of FENAKA. In his address, Muaz highlighted the importance of innovation in engineering, stating, “As university students around the world are developing innovative engineering ideas, our country must also strive for engineering solutions that are tailored to our unique landscape.”
He also expressed his willingness to support Maldivian university students in their engineering endeavours.
