Gov’t Opens Opportunities for Boutique Hotel Development in Hulhumalé 

The government has announced a call for expressions of interest (EOI) from parties interested in developing and managing three boutique hotels within the integrated tourism zone of Hulhumalé Phase 2.

The Housing Development Corporation (HDC), responsible for overseeing the project, revealed that it is inviting EOIs for this initiative. The corporation has emphasised a preference for proposals based on a land lease model, highlighting that such arrangements will be prioritised during the selection process.

In cases where multiple parties express interest, the project will be awarded to the proposal deemed most complete. The evaluation criteria will include the proposed business model, the experience of the operator, and the inclusion of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

Interested parties are encouraged to submit their EOIs via email to business@hdc.mv by 2:00 pm on 1st September 2024.
