MMPRC Launches Global ‘Discover Maldives’ Webinar Series to Boost Tourism
The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has initiated the “Discover Maldives” webinar series, a global campaign aimed at strengthening the Maldives’ reputation as a premier travel destination and engaging with travel trade professionals worldwide.
The series seeks to offer detailed insights into the Maldives’ diverse tourism offerings, with the objective of attracting more visitors from both established and emerging markets.
The inaugural session, catering to the French market, took place on 21 August 2024. Each webinar is designed to target approximately 60-80 travel professionals and members of the trade media, with sessions conducted in local languages to ensure effective communication with travel agents and tour operators.
The first webinar included presentations by industry partners such as Adaaran Resorts & Heritance Aarah, Angsana Velavaru, and Intercontinental Maldives Maamunagau, each showcasing their distinctive products, services, and experiences. These presentations highlighted the Maldives’ continuing appeal as a sought-after travel destination.
The “Discover Maldives” series aims to sustain and increase tourist arrivals from major markets including China, Russia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, India, the United States, France, Spain, and Switzerland. In addition, the campaign seeks to attract visitors from emerging markets by spotlighting the Maldives’ varied tourism offerings, designed to cater to a broad range of preferences and interests.
Over the past eight months, the Maldives has experienced significant growth in tourist arrivals from its key markets, further cementing the nation’s global appeal.
Through this new webinar initiative, MMPRC hopes to solidify the Maldives’ standing as a top destination, ensuring that the Sunny Side of Life continues to captivate and attract travellers from across the globe.
