Immigration Deports Two Foreign Salon Owners
Maldives Immigration has deported two popular foreign nationals who were operating major salons in the country.
Rajani “Riz” Shrestha, owner of Ritz Beauty Salon, was arrested on August 11 during a special inspection led by Immigration Watch. Authorities reported that Shrestha had been conducting business activities in violation of the visa conditions issued to her.

“Investigations revealed that the foreigner was engaging in business operations outside the scope of her visa,” stated the immigration authority.
On August 13, Shrestha, along with four of her foreign employees, were deported due to the absence of valid visas.

Similarly, Sushmita “Suzu” Daugoda, owner of Suzu Beauty Salon, was taken into custody on August 18. She was deported on August 20 after it was confirmed that she had also been conducting business outside the terms of her visa.
Maldives Immigration continues to enforce strict measures against visa violations in the country, highlighting the importance of compliance with immigration laws.
