19 Apprentices Graduate from Dhiraagu’s 2024 Apprenticeship Programme

Dhiraagu has held a graduation ceremony to celebrate the successful completion of its 2024 Apprenticeship Programme, awarding certificates to 19 apprentices who completed the programme.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony was the Minister of Education, Dr. Ismail Shafeeu. Special guests of the ceremony included heads of educational institutions, the Dhiraagu board and senior management members.

Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme is the flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of the company and the first such corporate apprenticeship programme introduced in the Maldives, which focuses on developing employability skills in Maldivian youth. The company has been conducting the programme since 2009 where over a total of 288 youth have enrolled in the programme as of today.
During the ceremony, the company also welcomed the 16th batch of the Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme, where 20 apprentices enrolled in this year’s intake. Through a structured training programme, soft skills development training, and with the opportunity to work in multiple core business areas of Dhiraagu, the programme helps to provide the apprentices a key pathway towards a successful career. Apprentices can work in Malé as well as various Dhiraagu Regional Operations Centers across the nation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Guest Minister of Education Dr. Ismail Shafeeu commended Dhiraagu for the success of the Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Program in contributing to the development of young talent. He emphasised that the program offers a valuable opportunity for young individuals to equip themselves for the job market, highlighting the importance of their active participation in this initiative.
Dhiraagu CEO & MD Ismail Rasheed congratulated the graduates and conveyed his best wishes to the new batch of apprentices. In his speech, he highlighted Dhiraagu’s firm commitment to nurturing youth potential and proudly recognised the many graduates who have advanced to key roles within Dhiraagu and various industries across the Maldives.
“Through the Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme, we provides opportunities for youth to develop their skills through intense on-site training under the guidance of a highly qualified management team”, Dhiraagu said in their statement.
