A Week of Fast-Paced Basketball: Dhiraagu 3X3 Challenge Wraps Up

The Dhiraagu 3X3 Challenge basketball tournament wrapped up with resounding success after an action-packed week of intense competition. The tournament occurred from 13  to 19 March 2025 at the Social Center outdoor court. 

With a total of 103 teams and 408 players participating, the Dhiraagu 3X3 Challenge was a true testament to the growing passion for basketball among the youth. Organised by the Titans  Basketball Academy, the tournament served as a platform for young athletes to demonstrate their talent and compete against the best. Beyond the fierce competition, it provided a valuable learning experience, allowing players to sharpen their skills, build teamwork, and gain exposure to the competitive basketball scene.

The tournament was divided into six age groups, with separate divisions for girls and boys. The age groups included under 8, under 10, under 12, under 14, under 16 and under 19, providing athletes of all ages with the opportunity to compete and showcase their skills. This structure allowed participants to face off against others in their respective age ranges, ensuring fair and exciting competition for everyone involved. 

The champion teams of the tournament from different age groups are: 

Girls Division 

• Under 8: Dreamers 

• Under 10: Air Ballers 

• Under 12: Warriors  

• Under 14: Falcons 

• Under 16: Aajeelakah 

• Under 19: Leopards  

Boys Division 

• Under 8: Hotweelers 

• Under 10: Blaze 

• Under 12: Bugs Bunny BC 

• Under 14: Bloom Squad 

• Under 16: Falcons 

• Under 19: Goat SC

“Dhiraagu is dedicated to driving the growth of sports like basketball in the Maldives, with a strong focus on promoting healthier, more active communities,” Dhiraagu said in their statement.
