The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has introduced a Dhivehi language-based speech-to-text application, in a move aimed at streamlining its operations.

Named “Kaathibu”, the application was formally launched on April 18th, 2024, during a special event attended by retired Superintendent of Investigation of ACC, Abdul Azeez Moosa.

According to the commission, this new tool is poised to significantly reduce the time investigators spend transcribing reports, statements, and other case-related documents into Dhivehi, consequently expediting the overall investigative process.

Furthermore, the ACC plans to utilise the application for various administrative tasks, such as drafting meeting minutes.

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), the application is capable of transcribing spoken Dhivehi into text in real-time, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Before its official deployment, the ACC conducted a thorough familiarisation programme among its staff over the past four months.

This speech-to-text AI application is part of the ACC’s broader initiative to digitise and automate its operations.

Cinetex Private Limited, the developer behind the application, has announced plans to introduce additional features, including summarisation, in the near future.
