Agriculture Ministry Invites Applications for Nutritional Consultant Role

The Ministry of Agriculture and Welfare has opened interested candidates to apply for the position of Nutritional Consultant.

In a gazetted announcement made last Tuesday, the ministry said this position is financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) towards the cost of the Maldives Agribusiness Programme. The ministry said they have decided to utilise this funding in the recruitment of consulting services.

The ministry said interested consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the services. Additionally, they said the applying consultants should not have any actual, potential or reasonably perceived conflict of interest. If such a conflict of interest is found, they will be disqualified unless explicitly approve by the Fund, the ministry said.

 A consultant with an actual, potential or reasonably perceived conflict of interest shall be disqualified unless otherwise explicitly approved by the Fund. A conflict of interest is considered when the consultant meets any of the following criteria: 

a) they have a relationship that gives them undue or undisclosed access to information about, or influence over, the selection process or contract execution;
b) they participate in more than one Expression of Interest (EOI) under this procurement process; or
c) they have a business or family relationship with a member of the Purchaser’s board of directors, the Purchaser’s personnel, the Fund or its personnel, or any other individual directly or indirectly involved in any part of (i) preparing this REOI, (ii) the shortlisting or selection process, or (iii) executing the contract.Interested consultants must submit their expressions of interest in writing no later than 22 April 2025 at 13:00 hrs. Submissions must include the following documents: a cover letter expressing interest, a detailed curriculum vitae, accredited academic certificates, and reference letters. Applications are to be sent either to shazin.mukhthar@agriculture.gov.mv or addressed to the Maldives Agribusiness Programme, Project Implementation Unit, Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare.
