Ahmed Shahid, Comedian of “Bahabaru” Passes Away

Ahmed Shahid Haleem, a former renowned film comedian, has passed away this morning.

Shahid passed away following a month-long period of medical treatment at the hospital. He succumbed while under ventilator care. At the time of his passing, he was 72 years old.

Shahid’s artistic journey commenced when he participated in small plays organised by a children’s class in Fenfiyazuge. Since then, he went on to perform in numerous plays and comedic productions.

The pinnacle of Shahid’s fame came in the 1980s with his participation in TVM’s comedy series “Bahabaru.” The show’s humour resonated with a wide audience and enjoyed immense popularity.

Apart from his contributions to the world of entertainment, Shahid also made contributions to Dhivehi literature.
