During the internal election, a total of 11 members were present, and they voted unanimously to determine various leadership positions.
It is important to note that The Democrats, led by former members of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), had contested the presidential election.
However, their candidate, Hulhudhoo MP Ilyas Labeeb, secured the third position in the race with a total of 15,839 votes. The party did not progress to the second round of the presidential election.
