Ali Waheed had previously held the position of JP president, which he relinquished following an amendment to the party’s constitution. Nevertheless, he continues to retain his membership within the party.
Subsequent to his dismissal and the subsequent charges of sexual assault involving female employees of the ministry, Ali Waheed returned to Male’ on the 11th of the previous month. His return was prompted by the subsequent dismissal of the charges against him.
Upon his re-entry into the Maldives, Ali Waheed conveyed his intention to distance himself from political involvement and instead channel his efforts towards the promotion of sports.
