Maldivian band 2OfUs takes the stage at Battle of the Bands International alongside Anu Malik.
Indian music director and television personality Anu Malik has lauded Maldivian band 2OfUs for their performance on Battle of Bands International, a music competition currently airing on Doordarshan.
This year’s edition of the show has expanded its format to include international acts for the first time, with 2OfUs representing the Maldives among a diverse line-up of bands from Mauritius, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Singapore, Russia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

The group’s dynamic stage performance earned high praise from Malik, who is known for his forthright and animated judging style. In a moment of clear admiration, he exclaimed “Aag lagaa dhi!” a phrase meaning “Set it on fire”, typically reserved for performances he deems outstanding.
Calling it “This is one of the best performances I have seen in many years,” Malik highlighted the band’s inventive musical arrangement, which seamlessly blended the work of composers. The episode concluded with 2OfUs being named “Performer of the Day”, a title that came with particular praise for lead vocalist Adhuham, whose vocal range and command drew special attention.As 2OfUs continues their journey on one of India’s most prominent televised music platforms, their presence is contributing to growing international interest in Maldivian music.
