Authorities Investigate Death of an Infant in Guraidhoo

Authorities are conducting an investigation into the death of a four-month-old infant in Kaafu Guraidhoo.

As part of the ongoing inquiry, the child’s body will be sent abroad for an autopsy.

A Guraidhoo council official confirmed that the child passed away on Friday night and was unresponsive when taken to the island’s health centre.

The body was later transported to Male’ via a police speedboat for further examination.

The council official explained that they were preparing to bury the child when the police intervened, stating that the matter required further investigation.
