The national carrier of Azerbaijan will operate two weekly flights from the capital, Baku, to Malé. The six-hour journey will be serviced by Boeing 737 Dreamliner aircraft, expanding options for travellers between the two destinations.
Azerbaijan Airlines joins a growing list of international carriers launching direct flights to the Maldives, aiming to support the nation’s tourism sector, which has already recorded an increase in arrivals compared to the same period last year. The addition of these flights complements a series of recent route expansions, including the launch of direct flights by UAE’s Air Arabia, which now operates regular services between Sharjah International Airport and VIA.
With rising demand, the Maldives continues to strengthen its connectivity with international markets, anticipating a robust winter season for inbound tourism.
